We know from years of experience that creating healthy and delicious meals can be a challenge. Planning, shopping, portioning, preparing and finally cooking a meal requires both effort and knowledge. Creating meals that conform to dietary or calorie restrictions increases this challenge and can add additional stress to the process - exactly what you don't need.

At DiningAway we make it easy. We'll do our part, which is all the planning, shopping, portioning and preparation of your meals and you do your part - enjoy them.

About Marcelle
A love of cooking is literally in her genes. Born in Lyon, France, food was an obsession in her family and she has always understood food to be fresh, seasonal and from the best sources possible. Her restaurant experience began with a desire to emulate the trend that had begun with restaurants like Mama’s in North Beach, Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Narsai’s in Kensington. Like those restaurants, everything served was fresh, seasonal and most important personal.

The restaurant, Out to Lunch, served over 300 lunches daily and provided catering services to the corporate and music industries. After selling the restaurant she graduated from Tante’ Maries Cooking School in San Francisco where she deepened her skills and learned as much as possible about different techniques of cooking. Travels to Europe and the Caribbean led to experiences cooking local foods in small resorts and on large sail boats.

Having two children changed her focus and she returned to Tante’ Maries for a certificate in Food Styling. She began developing and styling recipes with growers, photographers and restaurants and cooked as a personal chef  to families. Here she was able to perfect a menu of meals that satisfied a cross section of tastes while introducing new foods and flavors. An added benefit was the chance to teach basic cooking techniques to the children and parents.

Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin in New York says “Cooking is a holistic process of planning, preparing, dining and sharing food”. He believes food is what “connects us” and adds meaning to our lives. She couldn’t have said it better (maybe in French) and knows that her purpose in life is to share her love of cooking with those that appreciate great food.
